so i've lost my voice.. *croack* for the past 2 weeks or so.

it started off with tat sore throat which i went to the doc.
no fever and he said "your condition is mild" and then when he asked me anything else i said "can u give me an mc?"
he looked at my patient's card and commented "oh u've been taking quite a bit of mc lately"
OK so i have 2 months ago for a dae and 1 month ago for 2 daes for stomach flu. beats me why i'm so weak this yr...
so wat. we employees are entitled to 14daes of medical leave a yr. u mean cannot use ah?
but i really AM sick wat. my throat was burning me...
and then the "concerned" doc asked me "how many yrs have u worked in the company?" as tho he was worried tat i might incur the wrath of my bosses for too much a disappearing act. Another tell-tale sign tat i was probably a good-for-nothing kiddy worker (read blog entry: halloween)
i dunno why i was so dumb to tell him 3yrs..and then gave him a piece of my mind "i dun take mc if i can OK". then he said ok lah give u one dae off. duhz.
i was so ruffled tat when i took the medicine i told the nurse to tell him off for doubting my work integrity. when i first went to this clinic i already had a feeling that the stoopid doc was the kind who was never empathetic. and i was rite. trust me...i would Never go to this clinic if not for the fact that it's the nearest one from my home where the company recognises the mc.
and he only gave me antibiotics and medicine for running nose. HUH. i never had a single chance of running nose till now lor. he din pre-empt my cough..cos he gave no cough mixture.
bleah.

admittedly i haven't been a good girl tho...went to penang and ate a LOT of heaty stuff..laksa...apong..curry mee..ice kachang... grilled flower crabs *slurp*.. so now after 2 weeks since the mc dae i'm still coughing. and 2 weeks of sleepless nites..cos i always wake up in the middle of the nite to cough. dat dae i even woke up tinking there was an earthquake..but apparently my coughing shook me too much. ha.

but at least i tink i'm recovering now.. *croack* after daes of bland eating...

生命

saw a freaky car accident on my wae to work this early morning..

it was jammed already on the entrance to the expresswae..ok shd be an accident i guess..
spent a long while trying to get into the 3rd lane..and then realised tat 3 lanes were diverting back into the 4th. which means i need to squeeze back to the 4th lane again. sheesh.
and the policeman was waving madly to divert awae traffic from the first lane.
amidst the squeezing i saw.. man lying flat on the ground...white shirt all stained with blood.. a little distance ahead.. a flattened motorcycle. and further ahead.. lorry + van + car caught in a triangular smash. i did not have time to see the others...so i guess the man was the motorcyclist...

i was just 3 lanes awae from the man...so near yet so far...
u dun feel the impact so strongly when u see it on tv...
really 毛骨悚然 and 鸡皮疙瘩...
nothing like witnessing something so gory to remind u of your loved ones..and how 脆弱 life can be...

halloween

it's scary when u can look TOO young.

walked into 2 4D/toto outlets in a dae..and had both aunties asking me
"小妹妹， 你有没有过十八岁？ 有没有带IC?"

and then last weekend..was at IMM looking at this set of furniture for my room while my parents were a distance awae. and then the saleman told me the price, followed by giving me his namecard and ended with this most revolting sentence:
"if you like it..can ask your parents to come back with u"
and then i retorted "i can make my own decision"
to which he replied "oh! dats great!"
i noe he probably tot i'm a spoilt brat who could get anything i wanted ...i buy my stuff with my own hard earned cash~
duhz. like i will buy anything from him even if he gave it to me free.

and these are not the only 2 lone cases.
so there are other pple who always sae how lucky i am dat i look young. i guess i am lucky.
but still...
how about imagining tat pple dun take u for your word bcos u look kiddy?
it's IRRITATING.

sentosa luge

these pictures are long overdue..from the sentosa luge a couple of weeks ago..but they are cute!
the deal: 2luge+skyride and get 1 free!

but after the first luge..u roughly know where all the bends are already..and by the 3rd time..u will agree that the laws of diminishing marginal utility have sunk in...hehee.but still the skyride was nice and breezy..din buy the photo..but stole it off the screen :Pstealing helmets??

decision-time

this is my empty new room -- only one wall has been freshly painted in my chosen colour: Raspberry Sorbet Plain and boring? So it is. i haven't had anything customised for my room.
and so i have a list of items for my room:
1. bed + bedside table
2. table
3. dressing table/turnable dressing wardrobe from scanteak
4. glassdoor cupboard / shelves ?
5. tv?
6. computer?
7. cushy chair?

but i just can't decide wat is good for my rm. hmm...decisions decisions decisions. time to get busy again this weekend... $$$

grumbles

WAT can be more miserable than
1. having an urgent project at hand leading to
1a. stressssss
1b. lethargy from doing OT everydae
1c. blurry eyes from staring too long hours at the computer screen
2. having a sore throat, blocked nose coupled with flu-tiredness but not being able to take mc bcos of 1.
3. not being able to enjoy tv bcos i fall asleep everytime i sit down
4. not being understood ??

when u have 1+2+3+4.

yawnz..i really need to tink about my break next week to motivate me for this wk. but then again...no one has mentioned tat i will be having time-off next week yet leh.
my brain is frizzled.
haiz. there better be.

wedding dinner

my dear fren enwm had sent us her handmade wedding invitation card to her wedding dinner in KL. i wanted to go for her wedding of cos! but the harsh realities of life like $$$ and work overload were bogging me down. well well..at least rabbit reminded me tat this was once in a lifetime..and we won't wanna miss it.
so i bought our air tics and happily applied for leave with my mgr.
just then...my director rang me from US saying the project was urgent and asked me to put in my best effort - aka more OT please.
Sheesh. *guilt*
Then heck.
i already booked the airtics liao leh.

urm...okie i kinda knew the flight to KL was short..but this short?!! after the plane flew to the right altitude and the airstewardess distributed the drinks (note: only drinks..no food!) ...the pilot said it was time to descend liao...haha...
when we reached the KLIA they had this taxi booth at the airport..u can tell them where u wanna go..then they tell u how much and print out the ticket for u (with your destination on it). wow..i was secretly quite impressed...bcos this means tat no haggling with the taxi driver. transportation was like my next biggest worry..after safety.

and so all timing was on target and we checked into the hotel at around 6pm... hm..the dinner's at 7. decided tat we would bathe change and make-up..and be fashionably late for the dinner. reached the ballroom vicinity around 730..urm..and who was tat we hear in the distance?
hehehe... yesh it was our dear bride waiting outside the ballroom for the march-in already... urm..which also means tat we are quite late liao.haha. so m'sia wedding dinners are more punctual than sg ones. Oh well...but it was fate wasn't it? if we had not been so late..we would have missed this precious moment of taking this photo with her liao.
wedding dinner fare was much the same... wedding souvenirs were these choc cakes which i usually dun eat. but hungry us had them for breakfast the following morning...

sat was gathering-cum-shopping dae.. th was so kind to give us a lift to sunway pyramid shopping centre..and lend us his wife for the afternoon. hehe. yesh..and sunway pyramid is big..like vivo city..took us a dae to cover all the levels...
chendol and apong-balik for our tea...at the same time..th met up with us again. me and rabbit showed off our solid sony cybershot...which kinda influenced them to get a similar one for their trip the next dae. haha..i hope sony reads this and gives us a reward for advertising their product... altho it had been such a killer busy and hectic week for me after coming back..i'm just so glad tat i had gone for the dinner... if i hadn't..and looked back on it yrs later...i probably would have kicked myself for giving myself excuses for not attending. money would not be able to buy me back the time to attend your wedding again. it felt really great to be able to see u happily married woman! i din have any photo of u on my blog previously...so this entry is especially for u!
